Phytosanitary efficacy tests
For a precise and intelligent agriculture
Diseases in the field can have a devastating impact on crops, leading to significant economic losses for farmers. However, the inappropriate use of plant protection products as a control measure can further aggravate the situation.
The use of inappropriate plant protection products leads to the spread of disease and unnecessary expenses, in addition to causing damage to the environment, human health and crop biodiversity. In addition, excessive and prolonged use of certain chemicals can lead to resistance in pathogens, reducing their long-term effectiveness.
One of the big problems with the continuous application of the same treatments is the emergence of resistance. As shown in the image above, it is enough for one or two resistant isolates to appear to change the entire pathogen population from susceptible to resistant and to cause a treatment to fail.
Each disease and each crop requires a different analysis method. Not all pathogens have the same probability of developing resistance to phytosanitary treatments. In particular, there are two that cause great economic losses and that develop resistance very easily. These are powdery mildew and Botrytis cinerea (causing gray mold).
The ZeriMar Laboratoire team is made up of PhDs in biology, experts in phytopathology and phytosanitary agents who have been working for years to carry out phytosanitary efficacy tests for the private and public sector, developing our own methodologies. We have developed methodologies for rapid analysis of the efficacy of phytosanitary products against Botrytis cinerea, Cercospora sp. and powdery mildew among others.
Our long experience in studying plant diseases and their treatment with phytosanitary products allows us to know the mechanisms of action of compounds and the mechanisms used by pathogens to resist treatments.
At ZeriMar Laboratoire, we carry out efficacy analyses of phytosanitary products, evaluating different compounds and proving their effectiveness in controlling pathogens and providing valuable information. In this way, you will be able to know which compounds act on the pathogen and which do not, thus reducing the unnecessary use of chemicals, minimizing costs, the emergence of resistance and negative impacts on the environment.
By using our services, you will be able to make intelligent and precise decisions and develop the best disease management strategies, thus promoting more sustainable and profitable precision agriculture in the long term.
